Summer Needs and Items for those who live on the Streets

Summertime can be a very stressful time on the homeless. Especially those living in tents, woods, cars or conditions without proper cooling or water. It is very important in our part of the country that we do whatever we can to help individuals avoid heat exhuastion or even heat stroke. We have had paramedics come to our shelter several times in the Summer when someone showed up and was obviously dehydrated. Things like air conditioning and water are some things we may take for granted. But remember often the homeless may be in an abandoned building or in the areas of town with lots of asphalt and concrete making the temperatures higher. Here are some suggestions to help the Homeless during the Summer Season and help ease their discomforts or problems. For more information you may contact me at: Brian@fscrm.org or our drop off location is: 310 North "F" Street of Fort Smith, AR. This is just off of Garrison Avenue going North on 3rd.
